The article “Riches await as Earth’s icy north melts” was written by the author Doug Mellgren. The article clearly states that there was an island or a majority of ice that basically melted because of a sudden change in weather or global warming and so far it has been resulting with richness in minerals in that specific island. In a way, this is bad for the habitat of the animals that live in that island “whose cultures are depending on frozen water” as the article states. The arctic is said to have 25% of the world’s undiscovered oil and gas. Now that there is no ice covering the arctic, many countries are rushing to claim the minerals or accessibilities from those melted ice caps. Some of the following countries are having a hard time to reach the destination that they plan to reach. But all are still trying to claim as much as they can handle.
